Position Overview
The Apprentice Electrician supports licensed electricians in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems. This role is designed for individuals who are motivated to learn the trade, take responsibility for their work, and build a solid foundation toward becoming a certified journeyperson electrician.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation and maintenance of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures
- Support troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems under supervision
- Learn to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Follow all safety procedures and job site regulations at all times
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
- Use tools and materials responsibly and correctly
- Communicate respectfully with supervisors, coworkers, and clients
- Complete assigned tasks reliably and on time
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn and improve skills daily
Qualifications & Requirements
- Registered or eligible to register as an Electrical Apprentice (provincial requirements)
- High school diploma or equivalent (electrical or technical training is an asset)
- Basic understanding of electrical systems and tools preferred
- Strong commitment to workplace safety
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license preferred
- Physically capable of performing job site duties
