Transformational Wilderness Steward Internship (Gold Bridge)

We, as the Wilderness Stewardship Foundation (WSF), are committed to sustainable land management, stewardship and conservation of wildlife. During your internship/ volunteering you will experience a variety of fields such as invasive species management, habitat management, wildlife studies, eco-tourism to educate guests about wildlife in the area and proposal writing. We are strongly committed to personal and professional development and will support you on your journey.

Duties:
Implement of the foundation’s mission and objectives, involving all community partners in this.
Coordinate stewardship and resource management projects.
Develop citizen science projects for the collection of wildlife data, use these to educate guests and the public about conservation, both on trips and at the ranch.
Collect data on wilderness trips and analyze these.
Respond to consultations and referrals and organize meetings with relevant stakeholders.
Organize recruitment for research.
Convey progress, issues and challenges to the board of directors.
Project manage ongoing stewardship and resource management projects, plan future projects and secure funding for the foundation’s projects.
Complete land plans with wildlife management.
Research wildlife studies that support regulation and management of wildlife.

Responsibilities:
Contribute to supporting each other in our community and get involved in shared activities, such as our weekly success reviews, writing weekly blog stories, daily meetings, planning communal activities and taking care of daily ranch chores.
Take responsibility for your personal growth and create a positive environment around you.
Contribute to something larger than yourself by participating in Nature Conservation projects and mentoring your fellow community partners.
Be part of the ranch culture by sharing inspirational insights, photos and videos with our community.
Create your own work schedule, including 40 hours per week, that meets your interests and moves you towards your goals.
